Slayer Knight Legacy » Devlog
Most of the time and effort has gone into working on Lost Palace and getting the game on Steam. There's been some amount of polish--including updating Knight sound effects and balance updates--but a lot of work is still needed. The following is a summary of what's been recently completed and what still needs to get done.
- Continue working on Lost Palace. Completed three new mobs: Slime, Lightning Goblin Mage, and Fire Mage. Currently, the Ghost Warrior is in the works. Still need to work on new fire hazards and the Lost Palace boss.
- Extend the tutorial into its own level. There needs to be more of a ramp-up to the game's intended difficulty, in order to raise player's confidence and understanding of the game's mechanics. In order to accomplish this, the scope of the tutorial will be increased to the length of the level. I'll keep the very linear nature of it so that the player can focus on improving their mastery of individual mechanics.
- Enemies need more impact. Some enemies have sound effects when the Knight interacts with them, but not all. Will seek help with this since interacting with enemies is one of the most important game loops.
- Modify look of the Knight so as to make her distinguishable.
- Resolve size issue of game. The game's size is much larger than it needs to be. Removing the unused content should resolve this issue.
